Yoga helps us to flow like water. Our bodies become attuned to our breath, and to the nature of awareness. It strengthens and uplifts, allowing us time out for ourselves while simultaneously tuning in to our mind and body.
Often called flow yoga, Vinyasa Flow focuses on transitions and movements, with less time spent in stationary poses.
As opposed to other styles of yoga like Iyengar or Ashtanga, Vinyasa Flow classes do not have a set sequence or a certain amount or type of poses to get through. No two classes are ever the same, and often the sequences are creative and playful.
Less is More
Yin is a slow, soothing, and meditative style of yoga that targets the deep connective tissues, bones, joints, fascia, and ligaments in the body.
Movement and stretching hydrate fascia and literally help slow the aging process. In Yin Yoga, we hold mostly passive poses for about two to five minutes to work into our connective tissues.
